These are special works created in collaboration with Yuji Kaida and TokyoMTG.
These special prints are made and embellished by Kaida himself, and is a Limited edition print of which only 10 were created.
Magic's premier villian, Nicol Bolas, is depicted.
This is the art for one of the Alternate Art Japanese Planeswalkers for Japanese War of the Spark.
Kaida's charactistic monster style brings Nicol Bolas, one of Magic's biggest villans, to life in a brand new way! It's a wonderful piece that blends Magic and Japanese culture.
Bolas' metal armor are brought front and center with the advanced printing technology adding texture and flair.
The color contrasts and printing specialties were closely decided in collaboration with the artist.
For this piece, we've made 2 different frames available for you to choose, depending on where you intend to put this!
The white matte frame is simple and easy to display, complimenting the art beautifully.
The black matte frame feels more on-character for Bolas, and has divine qualities, fit for a Dragon God!
At the bottom of each print, the artist's signature as well as the hand written numbering can be found (out of 10 total). Kaida himself has added a feeling of Egyptian civilization, the inspiration for Amonkhet, the plane Bolas holds an iron grip on in Magic's story. It fits Bolas's theme perfectly.
Kaida has also participated in different artist and signing events with TokyoMTG.
Kaida's artistry and dedication really shows in how exacting his standards were to make this piece just right.
Enjoy this imagining of Magic crossed with the style of a Kaiju Painter, which can only be found in Japan!
